PSAT NMSQT Need college scholarships?
The PSAT in October, 2014 is coming up soon. This is a great way for you to try and get some big money scholarships for college. If you have a child who is academically capable I suggest gearing up for this test. There is a month left so I will suggest a crash course on the PSAT exam. I will provide free testing material on this blog. There are 3 tests that I have found from 2010, 2011, 2012 in pdf form that I will upload onto this blog.
If you need a tutor give eLearnPrep a call and we will work with you to help you attain the score you need to qualify for scholarships. The minimum score would be a 201 to qualify as a NSQT semifinalist. With this score you may receive college scholarships by private companies that are renewable for the 4 years of your college career and are in the $1000’s of dollars. Which is less than 70/80 points per math, critical reading, and writing section. The math includes just up to algebra 1 standards with some prealgebra and very little high school level geometry. The critical reading includes sentence completion and reading passage questions. The writing sections include grammar correction questions, but does not require any written essay like the SAT. Each PSAT test is a little more than 2 hours. This is a snapshot of the SAT test and with a good score and studying it will be worth it to invest your time to give your best effort. With eLearnPrep you will be able to master the test taking strategies, vocabulary, and content based on real PSAT tests.
eLearn Prep PSAT tutoring ideally will include 12 hours of private tutoring at a discounted rate of $500 for six 2 hour sessions. Group discounts apply as well if you would like to make a small class. Also, if you want a smaller chunk of tutoring I will offer a rate of 6 hours for $275 for three 2 hour sessions of one on one tutoring.
Here are the 3 past 2010, 2012 and 2011 PSAT practice tests in PDF format.
You may also go to College Board to find some more PSAT practice. The 2013 exam should be available with a study guide at your current high school counselor’s office.
